Shannon holds a Bachelors Degree in Childhood Education from SUNY Geneseo and a Masters Degree in Literacy with a certification in Early Childhood from Medaille College. Shannon began her career in early childhood in 2004 as an assistant teacher. She then advanced her career and became a teacher, as well as assistant director, and then promoted to a director at a daycare facility in Poughkeepsie, NY. Most recently Shannon worked as a Director at Holy Cross Head Start, until 2016, when she left her position to stay at home with her three children.

Shannon grew up in Lancaster NY, attending Hillview Elementary School and later Lancaster High School where she was very involved with the music program. Shannon also grew up at the Dance Spectrum from the early age of 3. She was part of the competitive programs, including the company program, and was part of many award winning routines. Shannon started her first job at age 12 as a dance class assistant and continued assisting upon graduating high school.  While at SUNY Geneseo, Shannon was part of the dance ensemble while pursuing a minor in Dance. She now resides in Lancaster with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time at home with her family as well as taking all three children to dance classes at DS. Shannon is extremely passionate about the field of early childhood and is so excited to begin this new journey with My First Friends.
